Certified Guiding Lions are critical to a new club. These knowledgeable Lions provide practical guidance to the new club leaders, help the club utilize the tools and resources available from LCI and their district, and set up a mentor team by matching each club officer with an experienced officer from a strong club. These concepts help strengthen a new club….but can they also help invigorate a status quo or failing club?
Often times a club that is failing needs new service ideas and a new direction. When new members are recruited, they will need the support of an experienced Lion who is on call and ready to assist.
The Certified Guiding Lion training promotes positive approaches so the club can reach the goals set by the club. They receive a club health assessment report so they can track the development of the club. But most of all, the club has someone to call when they need support.
Some areas are already using this strategy informally and we have received very positive feedback. Now, we would like to gather more detailed information and examine any shortcomings that may exist as well as learn how this concept has been applied successfully.
